Dear Parents,
It is important that we obtain an accurate list of all children qualifying for kindergarten in the Canyon School District for the 2019-2020 school year. If you have a child that will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2019, the child qualifies for next year’s kindergarten program. State law requires that all school districts in Utah abide by the same September 1st entrance cut-off date.
If you know of a neighbor that has a qualifying kindergarten child, please share this information with them and tell them to call the school and register their kindergarten child.
If you live outside of Oakdale Elementary boundaries, you are welcome and
encouraged to register as well. Open Enrollment for out of boundary students ends on
February 16, 2019. Permit requests after this date will be added to a waiting list and accepted upon availability. The Online Permit Portal is available through Canyonsdistrict.org website.
If your child qualifies for Kindergarten, fill out the registration form attached with this letter. Please note you will be required to provide an immunization record, proof of residency, parent/guardian driver’s license, and an original certified birth certificate at our Kindergarten Orientation. However, if you want to beat the rush, we will begin accepting these today! Please provide originals, we will make copies of the documents. Don’t delay registration while you obtain the documents!
Save the date: Kindergarten Orientation will be held April 19th @ 2:00 PM. More information will be sent as the date approaches.
