SCC Minutes 9/12/24

Want to determine vice chair after training at district.
Schedule meetings for the rest of the year. 2nd Thursday of the month at 4. Next meeting is October 10th

Review of cell phone policy- parents are feeling disconnected and worried their kids don’t have access to their phones or watches. Alyssa Motion to keep policy in place. Courtnee seconds.
Safe Walking routes. Be aware of changes. Do not allow people to park on the cross walks. Look at what we need to add and consider.
Possible additional signage.
Crossing near Siesta on blind curve.
Get street coordinates and get a google map to show needs.
Assembly next Friday, Sept. 20th on safe walking.
PTA school play: Willy Wonka Jr. Play
Cell tower funds:
-$4,000 to teacher t-shirts and subs.
– Pay for the rights of the play
-Jungle Book cost was roughly $1500.
Could we use funds from cell tower to fund Willie Wonka, approx.. $1500 Alyssa motioned. Jenn second.
Library Shelves. Got wrong shelves. Media hoping to get two more bookshelves. Shelves are $20,000-$30,000 for 2/3 shelves. Would like to do Read-A-Thon again to raise money for bookshelves and other library furniture. Is there another company we could use for fundraising? Would need to get (3?) More bids for fundraising to do something different.
Deidre would like $4500 out of Cell Tower to give to BLT to meet monthly to plan to write plans for PLC’s and Landtrust. Alyssa motions and Courtnee seconds.
