Parking Lot Procedures

Last year was our first year of changes to our parking lot procedures.  We will continue with the same procedures, along with your continued help, to keep our students safe during drop-off and pick-up times. Please follow our safety procedures for the parking lot.

All drop-off and pick-up lanes have been studied and designed for a reason. If these procedures are not followed, possible safety hazards for students are created.

Please understand the following:

  1. We need everyone to drive slowly and carefully through the drop-off and pick-up lane. Do not park in areas blocked by cones.  Bussing Students will be dropped off in the lane closest to the building.  Parents who are dropping off and picking up students will use the second lane to cross walk and proceed forward along the fence/sidewalk area as directed by our Staff or Safety Patrol.

  2. When moving through the parking lot, students and parents are expected to use the main crosswalk walk (by flagpole).  Do not cross through the Bus or Drop-off/Pick-up lanes. We have had several students almost hit by cars.  We need adults to model the example, as students will do what they see.

  3. Do not block the far north lane (left lane of the driveway) that turns into the parking lot.  This lane is to provide access to exit the parking lot, it is not for dropping off or picking up which causes frustration for everyone.

  4.  Our student safety patrol and teachers need your help as they attempt to keep the safety of students first. We appreciate your courteous, patient, and kind behavior, especially if asked not to park in an area or move forward along the fence line.

  5. Do not use the handicap parking space to drop-off or pick-up students. The handicapped parking spots really are for those who need accessibility to the school building from the parking lot.  It may be convenient to use a parking placard when you are not getting out of the car, but this causes difficulties for those who need this for accessibility.

  6. Lastly, please refrain from cell phone use in the parking lot during pick up and drop off. This practice limits awareness and leads to delays and safety concerns.

Thank you for helping us put the safety of our students first.
